Palm Beach Gardens Restaurants Opening This August

August 6, 2026

For years, the shorthand for a full errand loop in Palm Beach Gardens was a triangle: PGA Boulevard for dinner, Legacy Place or Downtown at the Gardens for the in-between, and a quick jog north to Alton if you wanted the newer stuff. Northlake Boulevard west of the Turnpike was where you went to leave town, not to spend an evening.

That map is being redrawn this summer. Between the phased opening of Avenir's Town Center off Northlake, a first Florida location for a New York pizzeria, a first-ever Smoke & Maple, two new Field of Greens cafés at opposite ends of the city, and a mid-summer sushi arrival on Lake Victoria Gardens Avenue, the corridor that used to be a shortcut is now a destination. If you already live here, the practical question is which of your standing habits are about to change.

What Is Actually Opening At Avenir Town Center

The Town Center at Avenir sits on a 4,752-acre master-planned community west of the Turnpike, and it is designed to be reached by golf cart rather than car for most residents inside the gates. The scale matters. This is a 200,000-plus-square-foot commercial core with nineteen confirmed tenants, not a strip center.

The current lineup, based on published leasing:

  • Publix — a 49,000-square-foot modern-format store scheduled to open in May 2026, with an adjacent Publix Liquors
  • Walgreens — the Town Center's only pharmacy, targeted for early summer alongside Publix
  • Kitchen Restaurant — an American steak-and-seafood concept with existing locations in West Palm Beach and elsewhere in Palm Beach Gardens
  • Seppe Pizza Bar — a modern neighborhood pizzeria whose other two locations are both in New York
  • Taki Kappo — an upscale omakase counter
  • H&H Bagels — the New York deli brand
  • Smoke & Maple — a first-ever location for the smoked-meat and craft-cocktail concept
  • Field of Greens — the salads, juices, and bowls concept that already has six county locations
  • Sloan's Ice Cream — the Palm Beach County ice cream shop, its sixth local location
  • Carmela Toast & Coffee Bar — an artisanal coffee and breakfast spot
  • Mr. Golf Cart, Kevin James Salon, Venetian Nail Spa, deFabrique Aesthetic Dentistry, Velocity Community Credit Union — the everyday-services layer

Most stores are targeting summer 2026 openings, with core services and dining slated to be operational by August. A few specialty retailers are extending timelines into fall. Publix and Walgreens are anchoring the early phase because they are the daily-need draws that pull foot traffic to everything else.

The interpretive point for a current resident is not "there is new shopping." It is that a Publix on Northlake at Avenir shortens the grocery loop for anyone in Osprey Ranches, Steeplechase, or the western edge of the city who was defaulting to the PGA Boulevard or Northlake and Military corner. For households that were making two grocery stops a week, this is roughly six fewer miles of driving per trip.

The Lake Victoria Gardens Arrival

Closer to the Gardens Mall side of town, Phatboy Sushi Kitchen & Bar is targeting a mid-to-late July 2026 opening at 11701 Lake Victoria Garden Avenue, Suite 8102. Owner John Maser confirmed to Business Debut that the Palm Beach Gardens location will seat about 80 inside and 40 on the patio, making it the brand's seventh outpost and its first ground-up build.

The operating hours are worth flagging for anyone whose standing dinner window is late: Sunday through Thursday until 10:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays until midnight. Half-off lychee martinis run all day Monday, and Tuesdays are a full-day happy hour rather than the more common 4-to-6 window. That is a genuinely different pattern than what most of the Lake Victoria Gardens sushi options offer, and it is aimed squarely at residents who work late or want a second-shift dinner without driving to CityPlace.

Two Field Of Greens, Two Ends Of Town

The health-forward café brand did not open one Palm Beach Gardens location this spring. It opened two, at deliberately opposite ends of the city.

The Donald Ross Road location at 5320 Donald Ross Rd. opened March 13, 2026, serving the northern edge of the city and the buyers moving into the newer builds near Alton and the Frenchman's Reserve area. The Northlake Boulevard location at 12485 Northlake Blvd. opened April 3, 2026, and it is functionally the western bookend that catches residents driving in from Ibis or headed toward Avenir. A third Field of Greens is included in the Avenir Town Center roster and will open with the summer phase.

Three Field of Greens locations inside a single city is unusual. Read it as a signal about where the operator sees repeat weekday lunch demand, which is a proxy for daytime density that homeowners and developers both track.

What Alton And PGA Boulevard Still Do Better

None of this makes the eastern corridor less relevant. Alton is still where Stanza has been quietly building a following among residents who describe it as the neighborhood-restaurant version of a room they wish existed five years ago. Kevin James Salon already has an Alton location before the Avenir one opens. Venetian Nail Spa's two existing Palm Beach Gardens stores are at Alton Town Center and Legacy Place.

Just outside the city line, Birdie Dockside Bar & Grill by David Burke opened formally in March 2026 in Lake Park, joining his salt-aged steakhouse SeaHawk Prime at Nautilus 220, which debuted in January 2026. Neither is inside Palm Beach Gardens, but both are close enough to reshape the weekend calendar for residents who used to drive south to CityPlace for a marquee dinner. The northward pull is real.

The practical division, for now:

Errand or occasion Old default New option worth trying
Weekly grocery run, western PBG Publix at Northlake and Military Publix at Avenir Town Center, May 2026
Weeknight sushi Existing Lake Victoria Gardens options Phatboy Sushi, opening mid-to-late July
Weekday salad lunch One Field of Greens across town Donald Ross Rd. or Northlake Blvd. locations
Marquee steakhouse dinner Downtown WPB drive SeaHawk Prime at Nautilus 220 in Lake Park
First-date pizza PGA Commons rotation Seppe Pizza Bar at Avenir, summer
Late dinner after 10 p.m. Limited Phatboy Sushi weekend hours to midnight

The Civic Layer Around It

Retail is the visible piece. The infrastructure behind it is the reason the retail penciled.

Fire Station 6 is already open and serving Avenir. The Jupiter Medical Center / UF Health micro-hospital on the Avenir campus is operational, giving residents on the western side of the city on-site emergency care that did not exist eighteen months ago. In addition to that, the Palm Beach Gardens City Council approved an $18 million Freestanding Emergency Room at Coconut Boulevard and Northlake Boulevard, with construction starting summer 2026. It is a 12-bay, 24/7 facility. For homeowners weighing the western corridor against the eastern one, the healthcare gap that used to favor PGA Boulevard is closing.

What The Two-Track Summer Actually Means

The city is not moving west. The eastern corridor keeps its density, its established restaurants, and its access to the Intracoastal. What is happening is subtler: for the first time, a resident on the western side of the Turnpike can plausibly complete an entire week of errands, dining, and daily services without ever crossing east. That was not true in 2024.

For homeowners tracking how their address reads to future buyers, this is the summer to actually drive Northlake between Coconut Boulevard and the Turnpike and see the buildout in person. The Publix opening in May was the leading indicator. The August fill-in is when the pattern becomes a habit.

For residents already inside Avenir, the golf cart paths connecting neighborhoods to the Town Center are the amenity that changes the daily texture of living there. For everyone else in Palm Beach Gardens, the useful reframe is that you now have three commercial cores instead of two, and the third one is finally worth the drive.

If you are thinking through what any of this means for the value of your home, whether you own inside Avenir or in an established community closer to PGA Boulevard, Donna Hutchins and her team track these shifts corridor by corridor. Schedule a confidential selling consultation to talk through how the summer's openings read against your specific address.
